Ide Meiji is the son of Ide Kiyoshi, Ide Tadaji's youngest brother. Growing up Meiji always admired his Uncle and enrolled into the Ide Emissary school as soon as he was of age. Over one winter court Tadaji was able to arrange a wedding with one of the emperor's niece, Misaki, for his nephew. Overwhelmed with gratitude Meiji has sworn to honor his uncle by representing the Unicorns in mediation in order to bring prosperity and peace to the clan and empire.
